What to Bring to Your Bridal Appointment: The Ultimate Checklist

What to Bring to Your Bridal Appointment: The Ultimate Checklist

Your bridal appointment is such an exciting, and sometimes daunting, milestone in life. However, walking into our store prepared can make all the difference in your dress buying journey. Bringing the right items, and the right mindset helps you feel confident, comfortable, and ready to find the one!

Here’s the ultimate checklist of what to bring to your bridal appointment, straight from our stylists:

An Open Mind

This is number one on our list for a reason! Brides often fall in love with something they didn’t expect or originally envision themselves in. Being willing to try on different silhouettes, fabrics, or details you might not have envisioned is the best advice we have. Trust your stylist and enjoy the experience.

Proper Undergarments

While you don’t need to buy anything special yet, we recommend:

  • Nude or seamless underwear (thong or no-show is best).
  • A strapless or convertible bra if you prefer, though many gowns have built-in support, so we typically recommend going bra-less!
  • Shapewear if you think you’ll want it on the wedding day — but don’t feel obligated!

Inspiration Photos

Whether it’s a Pinterest board, Instagram screenshots, or magazine clippings, bring your vision with you! Sharing your favorite looks with your stylist helps them pull dresses that match your style. We do send a questionnaire to our potential new brides before they come in for their appointment. Now, the stylist they work with has an idea of what the bride is looking for prior to any initial consultations. This ensures that our stylists can find exactly the perfect dress to be “the one”.

Your VIP Guests

Keep your entourage small and supportive. We allow 3 guests on our Monday-Saturday appointments. This encourages you to bring along only trusted people who will uplift you and respect your choices. Too many opinions can make the decision harder. If you do wish to broaden the amount of people accompanying you to your appointment, we do offer private appointments, which you can read about here.

Hydration

Bridal appointments can be emotional and exhausting. Staying hydrated and having a light snack before or after will help you keep your energy up (and your mood positive!). We always welcome brides and their parties to bring along their favorite bubbly with them to enjoy during their appointment. We provide a fun complimentary champagne toast after saying “I do… I do…” to their gown.

A Notebook or Notes App

Take notes or photos of your favorite gowns and how they made you feel. Sometimes it’s hard to remember details after trying on multiple dresses. We always say to not obsess over the pictures, but rather to remember how you felt in each gown.

Patience & Time

Arrive on time, but don’t schedule something immediately after. Give yourself time to enjoy the process without feeling rushed. This is a special time in your life, so enjoying every moment is important!

Remember:

You don’t need to have it all figured out before you walk in, that’s what we are here for! With these items in tow, you’ll feel prepared and ready to focus on finding your dream dress.
